Atomic Claims - Privacy Preserving Verification

Many statements contain multiple sub-claims, some of which may be sensitive (e.g., personal identifiers or confidential details). Atomic claims break a statement down into smaller parts: “Person A was at Location B at Time C.” This ensures:

  • Granular Accuracy: One part can be true even if another is false, promoting nuanced verifications rather than all-or-nothing judgments.

  • Privacy Preservation: Zero-knowledge proofs confirm an atomic claim’s validity without revealing underlying sensitive data. A birthdate, for instance, remains undisclosed even if the protocol proves someone is “over 21.”

This balanced approach upholds factual integrity while respecting data confidentiality—core principles that allow Swarm to handle everything from harmless memes to highly sensitive corporate or personal information.
